If you dogs nails are tearing out the soft spring-wood of your oak floor we have a solution for you.  Urethane finishes are plastic films on top of the wood.  Penetrating oil finishes like Rubio Monocoat soak into the wood fibers and harden.  No finish is bullet-proof, but the penetrating oil finishes are far more repairable.  If your dog is tearing out the soft spring wood of your oak floor, consider a repairable penetrating oil finish.  Even better, consider having us wire-brush and oil your floor.  Why sand the floor flat just to have the dog tear out that soft grain again?  As the dog nails tear out more open grain, just touch up with more oil.  Bonus: The floor is slip-resistant.  And it looks beautiful!
